Daylight Simulation :

The daylight simulation is a process to determine the areas that are well lit throughout the day-time operations and the areas where artificial lighting is necessary.

Glare study can also be a part of day-lighting analysis.

Advantages

  • It helps in designing the optimum window area in different climate zones.
  • The Daylight analysis also helps to fine tune the façade properties.
  • Fenestration U-value, Shading Coefficient, etc can be modified to improve the daylight levels. But over-doing the above would also mean increase the heat load, hence perfect balance is required and which can be determined through simulation
  • The Lighting simulation would provide alternatives and suggestions for the shading devices with dimensions, orientation of the shading devices and also on which façade of the building depending on the sun-path study and analysis

Lighting simulation :

The simulation helps to check whether the designed lighting flux is trespassing the site boundary.
